The $45~ difference between the Crew 8 and Platinum 6 is negligible to me - I plan on using these carryon pieces for years to come.

I found a thread here comparing the Plat 6 unfavorably to the Plat 5, but not much else on ppls' opinions of the Plat 6.

Welcome to FlyerTalk robflys!!! and thanks for your post. I still haven't made a purchase yet and I'm still up in the air (pun intended, sorry) between the 7, 8 and Platinum 6. Your comments on the 7 are influencing me greatly. I'm going to get the 20" though as I think it's a safer size (less likely to be gatechecked).

And xeno, I'm sorry you're having buyers remorse, but I'm curious as to why you're now preferring the Platinum 6 over the Crew 8. Could you possibly elaborate on why you're liking the PL 6 more? (I quoted myself above to show the prices that were there, since now, interestingly, I see LuggagePros has lowered the PL 6 20" to $179.99).
