FT has been my only outlet for this. Haven't posted on any other sites, including Trip Advisor. I've tried to keep this thread (and the other thread) updated as things progress and will advise if/when a positive outcome is achieved. Other folks have taken this thread and reposted it elsewhere (which is why I'm also doing my best to keep it updated).

Unfortunately I'm already SPG plat (through 2012) and I've requalified for Hilton through 2012 on base points and, assuming I don't do a full avoidance plan, will also hit it on stays. They know my business potential and its theirs to lose.

I've been very deliberate in trying to go through the channels Hilton has set-up to resolve this issue. I don't ask for, or demand, any special treatment and I trust that if I was a HHonors Blue Hilton would take this as seriously as me being a Diamond (the key difference is that they know the potential loss of future business if they fail to resolve).

At the end of the day, Hilton has some pretty glaring customer service issues. I can't, in good faith, say that if they resolve this to the outcome level I've said I would agree to, I would continue to patronize Hilton branded properties with the same frequency I currently do. I'm not going to mis-represent that fact.

No, they refunded this amount. Sorry if this was confusing at all.

My source of contention is that I would have never agreed to the downgrade (and a breach of the contract they signed with me) if they were honest and upfront about the fact that we'd be moved to a beach villa and not the deluxe over water, which they promised to us, in writing.

... and then everything that followed.
