Who knew there were so many Sunyvale people on this board?

Thanks for the tip about the routing. I think this sounds like the best option for us so far. As far as using miles goes, I assume I can book this using a 125,000 mile reward. Does that sound correct?

From another Sunnyvale resident,

Fly from SFO and take the Flagship 767 transcon in P to JFK. This way, you'll have the noise cancelling headsets on all of the AA portion of the trip. At JFK, you can fly a 777 with suites across the pond to LHR and catch the IB flight to BCN. IIRC, the BA Spain flights are IB codeshares.

BTW, I did Spain for my honeymoon last November. I bought Y tickets and upgraded using VIPOWs to MAD. (Had to earn miles on the flights.) Ended up going all over Spain using the oneworld Visit Europe pass. Have a blast. I know me and the wife did.
