European hotel tipping

Hi!

I´m a not so regular hotel guest but recently me and my wife has spent quite a few nights at both 4 and 5 star hotels. And as I´m aware of tipping in the US. compared to other continents can differ quite a lot But there´s of course situations that require tipping in Europe too, especially if you live in nicer hotels.

I have a few situations that I´d like your opinion on. If tipping is required and if so how much do you normally tip.

1: The bellboy, how much?

2: If the receptions staff follow you to your room and offers to help you with your bag?

3: Room service?
Will you tip even if you only ask for ice?
At the Hyatt hotels you can get the complimentary coffee through room service. Do you tip?

4: The maid?

5:Breakfast included. Do you leave something on the table?

6: Valet parking. Do you tip both when they park and when you pick up the car?

I also find it a little bit cheap to give coins when I tip. In Germany and UK the smallest note is 5 so if I need to tip a lot it can be a little bit pricey. I´m not a rich guy and we only stay at 5 star hotels when it´s a true bargain. Any opinion here?

Maybe a little bit complicated but feel free to answer only a few if you like.
