For example, I can go to DXB for $680 (with trickery) for about 16k EQMs at 4.25cpm, but its still too much for me to consider
Last year, I did my first ever mega mileage run to SIN for $566, and at over 21,000EQMs, I considered it a great deal at 2.7cpm (and even better with double EQMs at the time)

Its unlikely you will get a better deal doing domestic runs these days.
