Hoping someone here might be able to help me out. I have a rewards flight booked next week to Australia as a 1st anniversary trip for my wife and I. Right now she only knows we're going somewhere but doesn't know where.

When I booked the ticket in April, I booked hers with my last name. It was our intent to get all the documents changed over the summer as it was the one time we weren't going to be traveling and didn't need the passport. We were spending the summer in Toronto and packed our stuff up in storage in Vancouver as we'd be gone for 6 months. In the process, we also packed up our marriage cert by mistake and thus changing the passport became impossible.

We have since replaced the marriage cert but not in time to get other ID (license, etc.) changed, which was necessary to change the passport.

When I called Aeroplan they said the only way to change the name was to cancel the ticket and rebook, which of course would pretty much guarantee we wouldn't get the ticket back. A travel agent friend of mine has said she call an AC friend of hers and made an adjustment to our first YVR to SYD flight. However, we also have a flight from SYD to MEL on United and from MEL to AKL & AKL to YVR on Air New Zealand.

Just wondering if anyone has any other experience with name corrections with Aeroplan and can give tips. Thanks in advance!
