Yes, I realize that this equates to more work for the FA team and it requires knowing both the Medallion status and fare class purchased, which is not presently the level of information shown on DL manifests.
As an alternative, DL could use a system similar to that UA uses and issue manifests with *** codes:
- 5*: Paid F/J
- 4*: DM
- 3*: PM/ST E+
- 2*: GM
- 1*: FO/ST E
- 0*: no status
Agree - J/C/D/I paid BIS should trump. There is no reason why an IROP Y-UP sLUT should get a meal that a J paid DM would prefer.
On flights where meals make a difference to me (transcons), I will make my preference known to the lead FA before the asking starts. I have never had a problem with this - even when in 1A going west. I just will not do Delta Pasta. As for FEBO, it is more consistent domestic than international (TATL) and only once in over 50 flights this year has it been status based.
