I lived in Hawaii, and have flown to and from at least a dozen times - first class and coach (YUCK).

I agree with those who say it can be too cold for shorts for a long flight. I never could wear shorts on a plane - my kids can be comfortable doing that but not me. I wear nice capris or a skirt/dress.

I also bring extra socks and/or slippers.

Most of us look silly in short shorts - maybe Bermuda ones are okay, but I don't like how I look in them except bumming around and going to the beach (and I'm a size 4 or 6, so not fat or anything). I just think I look nicer in capris or skirts (I'm over 40). Younger folks look very cute in shorts, but I look silly!

Don't worry, though. No one cares what anyone else wears, as long as you're clean and covered.
