Mrs M and I and kids went to Playa Andalucia for one of these promotions about 6years ao; it was only partially built at the time and the location was too remote for my taste. (by that, I mean not enough bars / restaurants within walking distance.)
The following year we did the same promo a few miles up the road at the Marbella Beach Resort. Cutting a long story short, we bought a week at MBR and have never regretted being owners there; however, like Catharsis above, I wish I'd known enough to buy resale than developer.
Anyway, my main point in posting is that I don't understand Marriott's tactics in putting you up in a nearby hotel rather than in the resort. We bought not after the presentation, but two days later having soaked up everything the resort had to offer. You aren't going to get anything like the same experience from the presentation and tour.
