For example, I just made a 5 night reservation in a standard room. Then the agent gave me two rewards 'certificates', an Axon7 and a Cat7 single night. When I get to the front desk on checkin, I can choose to pay with cash, or use one or both or the awards. If I don't use the awards, I can re-deposit the awards certificates for later use, or save them for the next time I have a standard room for 1 night or 4 nights in a cat7 hotel.

Another example, I redeemed for a 1-night certificate in a cat5 hotel, asked to put it in a friend's name, and e-mailed it to the friend. They had a prior reservation at a cat5 hotel, and they were able to apply the reward to their reservation with no problems.

So you should be able to make a 4-day reservation in a standard room, (it may help to check with the hotel front desk so they can guarantee your room qualifies as 'standard') and then present a printout of the Axon Award certificate at checkin. Or at least before checkout... they should work with you.

Good Luck!

I just saw your earlier post that says you have three free night certificates. I think the same logic applies, you can use three free nights and one points night to cover a 4-night stay.
If you've gotten away with doing stays like this you've been lucky. You cant book a "paid" reservation and then expect to use "awards" at time of check in. The reservations have to be booked as "award" reservations. If a reservation is not booked as an "award" reservation, the hotel is under no obligation to honor any award certificates. As we all know award availability and regular availability can be completely different.
