If you're coming in today (Wed 8 Sep) you could visit the US Open in Flushing Meadows and watch a few hours of tennis. The forecast called for some rain but looks like it's cleared up now. Flushing Meadows is about 30mins away from JFK by cab, but an hour by public transit.
