Left my leather jacket at Security in ORD when flying AA in 2001. Realised it on the flight to JFK. Stopped at baggage services in JFK, they gave me a phone number in ORD. Called, left message on machine. Got a call the next morning saying they had my coat and just needed a FedEx or DHL account number so that they could overnight it to me.

Very pleased.
