This happens every time I flew a two-leg trip with the first leg as a codeshare, i.e. SBA - LAX - JFK. "Upgrade Requested" shows up in my record from time of purchase up to the day of flight, however because of the codeshare first leg (American Eagle) I cannot check in online (nor can I check in with the Delta kiosk/desk at SBA.)

Somehow in the process of checking in at the American Eagle desk (and getting issued a paper ticket, no less, along with having to pay THEIR baggage fee for a 15min/89 mile flight), my name gets bumped from the upgrade list for the next segment. First few times this happened, I thought I was just getting outranked by DM/PMs, but it finally dawned on me that the reason my name never showed up on the upgrade monitor was that I wasn't on the list any longer. Have since made a point of specifically requesting to be RE-added to the list at LAX or, if I have time, at the Delta desk at SBA. Weird that this happens considering ticket is purchased from/handled by Delta...
