So what is the best airline choice if what you want is not free upgrades or cash upgrades but mileage upgrades? I want to use my accumulated miles for upgrades and know that I'm going to get the upgrade at the time that I book. After 7 years flying CO (preceded by 10 years and >1M miles on AA out of ORD), I'm now free to choose between any of the NYC area airlines: DL, JetBlue, AA, and CO/UA. Any suggestions?
