I'm sure a quick email from a WP to QF could end this pratice completely.

I sent an email about a MEL lounge dragon ordering 3 coffees in the J Lounge while I waited behind, only for her to order the barrista to put them in takeaway cups and not glasses. We had 15 mins in the lounge, and I would expect in this circumstance that lounge staff would excuse themselves for the waiting passengers. As it happened, we were called for boarding and didn't get out coffees. A polite email mentioning what had occured resulted in the MEL lounge manager calling me, apologising, and stating that the benefit to use the facilities (only when there are no pax waiting) has been withdrawn as the staff had abused that privelege.
