Well, I would cut them a little slack. When did you book your ticket? As of July 19th you posted that you still had not received MVP status. I'm no airline IT guy, but I am fairly certain that AS and DL do not share the same IT system, therefore there must be some delay in time between when AS registers you as an MVP and when DL is told you are an MVP. It very well may be that AS shows you as one, but DL does not.
You should not fault a phone rep for looking at his/her screen that tells them you carry no status and them having to abide by that. Plus, if you say 'never more' to DL, what are you going to do for IFE and WiFi, considering AA has virtually nothing?

This all happened in early August, over 2 weeks after my status was in the AS system. I don't fault the rep for not just handing over preferred seating, but outright accusing me of lying to try to scam them out of an exit row was not appropriate. After I asked to talk to a supervisor who then called AS to verify that I was indeed an MVP I was finally put in preferred seating. At that point I didn't even care where I sat anymore, it was more just the principle of it.
I also do not really care about IFE. I always bring my laptop, iPod and a few books for long flights and I can get by just fine. Inflight wifi is only of use to me if it's free or on a particularly long flight. I think I'll survive without it.
I really do mean it though when I say I will not be flying Delta again unless I absolutely have to.
