Please note that it is NEVER referred to as High Tea, which is completely different (High Tea is more an early evening supper - think beans on toast). It is AFTERNOON TEA to which we are referring here.

Ritz is impossible to get into for tea, rammed with tourists if you do get in and you also have to wear a tioe and jacket.

The Dorchester is VERY pricey, though excellent. You can of course sample the Dorchester inspired Afternoon Tea on board BA F.

I would actually recommend the Goring near Victoria/Buckingham Palace.

Much easier to get a table, relatively inexpensive, SUPERB sandwiches and cakes and (this is the clincher) the sandwiches are "endless" = as many plates as you can reasonably eat!

Also, they are proper fillings like guinea fowl, ham and beef; none of this cheapskate cucumber and Philadelphia some of the places fob you off with.

A bragin at £35/head and the Bollinger served at the £45 pricepoint in a very generous glass is a steal:
