I know all that, I allududed to that (without quite as much specifics), but the thing is, if you read his previous posts, the OP is only interested in earning miles on rentals of 1 to 2 days (the ones too short to earn free rentals with Avis First). The OP is more interested in free rentals, and only upon finding out they can't earn free rentals on paid rentals of 1 to 2 days asked about what kind of miles are best to earn
on those.
Most if not all of the promos you mention, and that are in that thread, are for 3+ day rentals.
