I am doing LAS to SFO next month and looked at all the options and went for Southwest based on flight timings mainly which suited my BA departure.
Also Southwest now do EarlyBird check in which for $10 means they check you in automatically before the flight opens giving you the highest possible boarding position and from what I read normally puts you somewhere in the A boarding group.
