I have a US based address for my BA membership.
A one way business class award from London to India costs 37,500 miles.
A friend has a Europe based address for his BA membership.
A one way business class award from London to India costs 50,000 miles.
Would he be successful in lowering his award cost by simply setting his new address to be US based?
No, but he would be successful in lowering his award cost if using AA miles since AA charges only 30k miles one-way in business class (for the same route) and the cash component charged on such an AA-issued award is less than what BA demands.
