Well I heard from AA customer service ( I posted a failure for AA to switch me to PLT at the 10,000 Q Mile point - some poeple thought if AA had no record of the request - and they had nothing - I was out of luck).

They looked at my case - I told them I called 1/1/03 and flew 14,900 Q miles in 75 days , they had no record of the request (and have no way to confirm a challenge - such as a code or confirmation # - at the time you call) - and today granted me PLT status to 2004 expiry and at some point I am hoping they backdate the 100% PLT bonus miles at the point I hit 10,000 Q Miles. I have asked them to do so.

If I fail to do 25,000 miles this year to go back to Gold do I go to Gold in 2004 anyway?
