Had in the past churned a few cards but had stopped over 6 months ago.
Called afterwards to check on status and got told to wait 24-48hr for "review" (not a good sign I know). I ask if I should reduce my present line of credit on the Gold card to make some $ available and they said it shouldn't matter and if it did someone will contact me.
Last night at 11PM I get an e-mail with the rejection which stated that I have the maximum credit allowed for an individual according the the experion credit report-- though didn't say that I had (A) too many cards, (B) hadn't waited long enough between applications etc.
In addition to my Citi Gold Card I have a Chase BA card with a 22.5K line
Should I call to "push it"? I'm more than willing to reduce the line on the gold card. If that doesn't work I wonder how long I'd need to wait before trying again. The 75K bonus is too tempting to let to. I will probably reduce the line on the Chase card since I really don't (A) need that much credit and (b) possibly cancel the card when the annual fee kicks in again.
Thanks
Others have had success when they called because of "too much credit".
