for the OP, the bags are also secured at JNB with the same plastic locks as some police force use... be clear if you don't want these put on (it stops any chance of a quick open of the bag onthe ramp).
Overall Comair, at least in Club are super - they could (and should) teach BA mainlien how to do it...
