I don't know about the first post 100%, but, I know that 25 hours before departure, U class is blocked from view from res agents. So the flight might show F7U0A7, but that is just because the inventory is blocked. But airport agents would still be able to see the U class. As far as the KOA-SJC flight, it is completely open up front as of now, but there are also no MVP/MVP golds on the flight right now either. Within 25 hours, the only way to have upgrades processed is either at the airport or with web check in. If you are on the upgrade list already, and havn't cleared yet, then you can try one more time at web-checkin, just in case something opened up, but after that, it all goes to the airport agents. If you see an example of F2U0A2, then in reality there is 2 U seats that are being blocked from your view, and if you qualify for the upgrade, you can go online, and grab it. But if it show F2U0A0, then, no upgrades exist. If A is open, then U is open. Sorry for the rambling, it's really early
