While the experience at FI was certainly unacceptable, you did get the award portion credited back to your account. That 20K could have just been forgotten. Another option is I would call the FI at a different time during the day and ask to speak to the manager.
On another note, I am amazed that you actually stepped foot into any motel in Atlantic City. The majority of those motels need to be condemned.
If it's the FI I'm thinking of, it's actually pretty decent and not in a terrible part of suburban AC, about 5 or so miles outside of AC proper. I don't believe there's a Marriott property in actual AC.
