VZW's Vodafone GSM Global Sim unactivated ??

Just make sure you call VZW Global Support to make sure that Vodafone-based Sim is activated & profiled for travel use abroad, if it never was b/c over at howardforums.com there are stories of travelers believing that their pre-inserted sim was ready to use oversea in places like Germany & France, ony to find that it was NOT and had to jump loops to fix it to get the "privilege" of paying the premium rates tied to their number (roaming is expensive, no matter what vs. home rates in any country - 3G/data roaming rate is $$$ since smartphones like BB are constantly in search & d/l mode)

If you get au unlocked GSM advanced device, why not get a local prepaid sim card and use it.

If the employer/company is paying the bill for your travel expenses & you get reimbursed for global calls, then - go ahead & do a little bit of "economic stimulus" & consumer spending abroad, it's good for my QCOM stocks.
