If the double bed request is on the reservation as a Diamond member that is what you will be guaranteed as that is your preference. While the reservation agent may have only been able to book a king the front desk is required to go by your stated preference of the double beds. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

It seems that what you are saying is that the controlling factor is the Gold Passport bed type preference, not the room type reserved. This goes against everything we have ever heard about the Bed Type Guarantee, which is that it applies to the actual room type reserved.
My Gold Passport bed type preference is King as that is what I normally require. Occasionally I specifically reserve a 2 Queen room when staying with a platonic friend. I would be very disappointed to find that my preference would take precedence over the reservation in that case.
