I think that's another part of the equation, and that's why Southwest would prefer to code share preferably with someone who also does inter-island flights. Southwest seems to have a pattern lately of re initiating service to all of the old ATA code share cities (LGA, EWR, BOS, (DCA*), MSP) so seeing as ATA served LIH, OGG, and HNL, should they choose to do the Hawaii thing they may as well open all 3 of those cities at once..
