The honorable thing for the hotel to do is to stand behind the information you were given and make good on it. If you have stays going forward, it would be perfectly fine to tell you that as of this date, it will be thus and such. You can then make a decision as to whether to stay. But given the very specific information that was given to you, I feel that they have a moral obligation to deliver for past stays.
I completely concur. The hotel still has latitude here -- even if it comes in the form of goodwill points to make this right.
