I've done BKK - ICN via TPE before and I wouldn't do it again. The waiting area in Taipei is awful and I never found the lounge.

I also have a feeling that you will get an amenity kit if you do the flight without stopping. I haven't done the route, but I have done BKK - PEK which is a similar distance and amenity kits were given out on that flight.
