I prefer the Grand Deluxe over the Balcony room for a number of reasons, and wouldn't pay the additional 1000 thb for it assuming the amenities you mention are included in the Grand Deluxe rate. Save your baht for the outstanding Temple of Dawn evening river cruise; I think it's currently 1250 thb including unlimited drinks and canapes. It's a great time and an excellent value.

I took advantage of the Suite Life rate this past March towards the end of high season, but I don't know if it was running in January.
