So I had my first set of trips last week since originally posting. I made certain not to change the itinerary in any way. It was as originally booked on DL.com, and two of the flights showed "upgrade requested". The flight to NYC was on a CRJ, so nothing to report there.
Yesterday, however, was my return flight (see Cheryl Tiegs sighting in the Celebrity thread). No 3-day upgrade, even on a 757. I fly to LGA often and usually get upgraded, even as a GM, coming out. Not this time. Was on an MD-88 out of ATL, no upgrade showing there either.
When I checked in at the kiosk, it said under upgrades, NOT ELIGIBLE.
Got to the Sky Club and found an EXCELLENT agent to help me (emailed DL complimenting her, really gushed.) She checked the upgrade list, noting that it said I was on there, but when she got into the system, she frowned, saying a number of people had been upgraded ahead of me who should rank behind me. Said I wasn't on the true list, even though on the "front list" she called it, I was. Same as my next flight. She was limited from there, but said there might be something in the DL computer that was skewing me. Nice lady she was, she called over a supervisor and they upgraded me on the next flight with a true first ticket.
I called DL last night, talked to several helpful people, none who could figure it out. They agreed that there was a problem. They said I should have been upgraded, and noted that I was "supposed" to be on the list. Okay...WTH? Anyone have any ideas? Glitch? The lady told me to call back during the day. Haven't done so yet, just because I wanted to see if anyone has had this issue.
Sorry for the rambling email!
