The bar at the top of the south tower is legendary in Toronto, going back to when this was the Park Plaza hotel. But during the 60s it was a hangout for university types and the literarti/filmmakers of the city. While it was posh for the day, it was not as expensive (in relative real dollar terms) as it is today. I remember spending a fair amount of time drinking beers and debating the politics of race the Viet Nam war (even though we were all Canadians), and the pending takeover of Canada by the US!
