European Business class is not much to write home about, but then the cost differential over Y is not that great either. The same seats on the same pitch are used, but on one side (usually left side of plane) the armrests have been moved over. Generally the curtain can be moved back and forth to adjust for demand - different routes have more J pax than others. Food is somewhat better but on short flights is that really a big concern?

For AC to do the same here would be a recipe for disaster. Flights are generally much longer, so the space is more needed.
