Maybe AC isn't so bad after all

I just had the experience of flying domestic business class in the UK on BD this last weekend, once on a 737, once on a Fokker 100. In each, there were 10-12 front cabin rows with a curtain in between. As far as I could tell there were no differences between the front and back cabin seats (3-3, 2-3)and the pitch was very short. In fact the seats were very similar in pitch and padding density to those on the Dash-8s. The in-flight service was fine, although the food (breakfast) left something to be desired. In both cases the front cabins were full. After that, the A320 I flew after getting back to Canada seemed incredibly roomy. I had heard that European domestic J was not very luxurious, but if ever AC moved down to that level, my aspirations to J would disappear entirely.
