I always thought it was a silver kris was a silver dagger (doh!), and the bird on the tail was a golden goose...
I heard it from a SQ girl who's family of my girlfriend, so don't shoot the messenger in the foot!
One bit of fact that lends strenght to this theory is how SQ's inflight magazine is called SILVERKRIS followed by the logo of the bird on the tail. But don't quote me on this, as I don't know, just relaying what I had heard.
