I have to confess I am of a generation where literacy was considered a virtue.

Yes, I appreciate a newspaper. My Marriott profile specifies the local paper, but that has happened (maybe) twice or three times in the last year. Even USA Today is OK for a quick read and sometimes absurdly easy puzzles (hey, it makes me feel smart!).

I was really upset when Marriott pulled the plug on newspaper delivery in many of its properties. It was supposed to be limited-service but other full service properties seemed to join in. Thankfully, other hotel chains did not adopt the same policy.

If Marriott allows you a choice of paper, it should be easy enough for the iNerds to simply opt out if they don't want one.
