How odd -I'm all for crew being proactive in safety, but insisting on something that isn't policy seems a bit excessive to me. Yes, it's a good idea, but they shouldn't make you do it IMHO. Guess he was just trying his best to be helpful and save lives, but even so, not sure I'd be too pleased.
