I have the original Moto Droid, and wish I had some of the nifty features of the EVO, but alas, I need to wait until I am eligible for upgrade again

Definitely looking forward to checking out all the apps and customizing everything. Will probably consider rooting too...I hear that you can enable the EVO to become a mobile hotspot without paying the $30 monthly fee...so that sounds worthwhile!
