This happened to me a few years ago on a milage run...I thought I was going to get about 40,000 miles for the trip and was shocked when someone told me the ticket wasn't eligible....but don't panic

1) True, Q fares are not eligible for miles.

2) But, Q fares should only be assigned to flights with travel originating in Europe.

I eventually got someone at American who was able to help me and realize that the ticket should not have been booked in Q class since my travel originated in the US (like yours).

It may take some time, but keep trying. If you don't get the right response on the phone then write a letter to AAdvantage explaining the situation.
