I completely agree that the information isn't "protected" or anything like that, but instead of posting it on an open blog (or forum), it's just in the best interest of the group to give it out privately, not just post it for the whole world to see w/o having to do any research or contribute anything.
It's just annoying that there are always people coming here asking "how do I get free stuff?" w/o ever spending more than 10 min researching or contributing. By posting it on a public blog is just giving them easier access to information that they didn't spend any time/effort on.
I'm glad it's been taken down and that's fine if mrpickels wants to talk about it at the DO. That's a few hundred people who are specifically interested in the miles or points game, not posting it for millions to see who will just abuse it and ruin it for everybody.
This is just sad. First off all what is the point of this thread still being opened? I can't tell you one bit of useful information that has been posted since the 10 day limit started. People on here who have only been buying coins for a matter of months are complaining about new members coming on here and asking "stupid" questions even though this thread is nearly 10,000 posts long and the FAQ is not regularly updated. What it really is.... greed. If the "community" does not want new people doing this or for other members to help each other out with new information this thread should just be locked.
This thread has only become a place where people come to increase their number of posts with useless information about which casino, walmart, or store they dumped their coins on. Or even better yet are the posts stating hey I got my coins today! Another order just shipped! You have a few hundred of those and it makes it impossible for someone new to really dig into if there is any recent news or dangers of doing this deal.
Let me remind you all that there was a time when people could order 99 boxes at a time and there was absolutely no problem with it until around October when shipments were taking a good amount of time (a week or two) to be processed. Then the WSJ article hit. At no time can I remember anyone pointing the fingers at the people like they are now about being greedy.
We should now be having an open discussion on why this thread is still open if most of the members feel that new information should not be discussed freely.
