I'm lucky/unfortunate to have an Acer Tablet PC C104... alas there is no certified Targus Tip for this product.

If I brought this 60 watt inverter with onboard my intl flight, will I be in trouble with AA? And for that matter, how can I tell if 60 watts is enough for my tablet?
Thanks!

I use an APC inverter with a combo Cigarette lighter/Empower tip ( since some seats use Empower plugs) - the problem you may have with this Radio Shack inverter ( and a few others not aimed at aircraft use) is that the DC power in the seats is 15V DC and the usual operating range of the car inverters is about 11-13V.

I would suggest you get one for aircraft and not cars. Though the good news is the APC one works with lower voltages, e.g. car battery voltage.

Also 60W is likely underpowered to charge a laptop though maybe OK to operate if the battery is fully charged already. If it is dead (or needs any chraging at all frankly) you will probably overload the inverter as only 60W AND the voltage limit may trip the fuse/breaker etc.

Smoke and or fumes and or fire will get you the boot for sure if that happens.
