It is highly unlikely that any employee of TSA is qualified to determine the effects of airport security equipment on a medical device, let alone front line screeners. There are probably only a handful of employees at the medical device manufacturer who are qualified to make that determination, and even then only one or two employees that are allowed to sign off on that determination.
The manufacturers of the airport x-ray machines may well claim that their devices to not harm electronics, but in all likelihood, there is a fine-print disclaimer saying that the claim does not apply to life-sustaining equipment, medical equipment, etc.
