Water purification system at Chinese Marriotts?
To my surprise, I just learned that the tap water in Shanghai is not drinkable, not even
suitable for use while brushing teeth. I know that some hotels in Mexico have their own purification systems (at least they have them, whether or not they're functioning is another matter). I'm staying five nights at the Courtyard Xujiahui next month and I'm concerned about contracting a disease from contaminated hotel water. It amazes me that a country that has made such vast improvements in its economy over the past three years would not have solved this problem. Can anyone shed some light on this possible upcoming problem and how to remedy it? I'm guessing that one of the first things I'll need to do upon arrival at the hotel will be to run to the corner store and pick up ample bottled water.
