E- isn't so bad, especially given how crowded E+ is most of the time these days.

If E+ only has middle seats left, I prefer E- by choice as long as there are aisle and adjacent seats open. Just did this last week, but I had the RCC counter agent double check that the seat next to me was still open before I went to the gate.
