Correct - as JAXBA said three posts back, an award seat on a OW flight can only be "redeemed" against the operating carrier.

So, an award seat on a flight operated by AA on AA metal with an AA flight code will be an AA redemption. The fact that the same flight might also have a BA flight code is completely irrelevant as far as award seats and redemptions are concerned.
