My company provides services to both local and remote clients (spread mostly over 9 states), and I could easily arrange my work to deal strictly with local clients. However, I've spent several years building up the business outside our local area, as the income potential is considerably greater by doing this. I've generated enough work to spin off to two others who can do what I do, leaving a staff of lower paid employees supporting the local trade. Most of those left at the office prefer to stay local, and I understand that being on the road is not for everyone. I rather enjoy it.
