The same scenario arises if you take a flight PVG<->LAX, with a AA marketed flight, but operated by MU (non-OW, but an Asiamiles partner), you should NOT be able to earn club miles, and probably not even Asiamiles.
Correct, however, you can earn club miles if the codeshare is under the CX or KA code. On the other hand, for the MU case, you're likely to earn Asia Miles if the AA codeshare fare maps into an eligible Asia Miles MU fare.
