I had an interesting experience with that at the beginning of July. I was flying on an A319 and the blog indicated that 100% of them were fitted with wi-fi. Fast forward to 10,000 feet and I looked for the signal and there wasn't one. I asked the FA if it was out of service, and she said she was told the plane wasn't even equipped. To make things even more interesting, there were Gogo information cards in the seat back pockets.
