Happened to me once on a BA flight (747). The PA system suddenly announced we were about to make an emergency landing on water. Given that we were flying over Europe at the time with no obvious problems, I deduced it was a false message and quietly sipped my champagne.

The CSD did come round to apologise and make sure passengers were not alarmed.
